Moore Response Management Group's two disconnected systems — AS400 and VB.NET — consolidated into a single cloud-based management platform.
Moore Response Management Group provides direct response processing, data management, customer care, and fulfilment services to over 300 clients across the nonprofit, government, and commercial sectors.
With facilities in the DC Metro Area, Topeka, and Tulsa, Moore RMG operates across the full complexity of client data environments — from charitable campaigns to government agency programs. Its competitive position depends on the accuracy and reliability of the data and reporting infrastructure underlying every client engagement.
Moore RMG had attempted to move beyond its legacy AS400 mainframe by introducing a VB.NET system alongside it. Rather than solving the problem, the hybrid approach compounded it. The two systems could not integrate cleanly: data formats were incompatible, each system held capabilities the other lacked, and staff were navigating a fragmented experience that consumed time and created inconsistency.
The infrastructure cost of maintaining two separate systems was unsustainable, and the user experience (particularly for reporting) was insufficient to meet the expectations of a client base that required accurate, client-specific data on demand.
Primero Group experts designed and built a custom cloud-based management platform that replaced both systems with a single, unified environment. All AS400 and VB.NET data was migrated using secure ETL processes with end-to-end encryption, preserving data integrity throughout the transition.
The platform's modular reporting framework enabled Moore RMG to generate real-time, client-specific reports — replacing a capability that had been structurally limited by the disconnected estate. A microservices architecture was adopted to allow individual components to scale independently, avoiding the performance bottlenecks that had characterised the legacy environment during high-volume periods.
The interface was rebuilt for usability: consolidated workflows, fewer steps, and an experience that worked for both new and experienced staff. A phased rollout with pilot testing, hands-on training, and post-deployment optimization ensured the transition did not disrupt client operations.
Our engagement with Moore RMG demonstrates the Group's application modernization capability applied in an environment where the data and reporting infrastructure is the product — not a back-office function.
The decision to build a custom platform rather than adopt an off-the-shelf alternative reflects the Group's approach to modernization: the right answer for a client with specific, complex requirements is a system built to those requirements, not a compromise shaped by what a generic product can do.
